Chess day 1
Today was chess match day in the Netherlands, tomorrow is chess match day in Belgium. Day 1 was good for a draw for the team, but a lost game for E, after a very cool and exciting game. They were very evenly matched. A very nice and friendly opponent, very understanding when E told him that he can't always move the pieces further away from him because of his handicap. Immediately the opponent replied that he would then make the move for E and asked whether the (mandatory) notation of the moves was not an obstacle, and that E did not have to make the notation for him if the arbiter thought it was okay too. Very sympathetic and sporty! After the game, they chatted in the bar for over an hour while waiting for the last teammates to finish their game. They're both playing the same tournament this summer, and they're looking for each other for another drink and have exchanged their online details to play a game there too! A very good day.
