Melting
It rained hard in the night again but the snow is still pretty deep in places. I returned from this short foray with very cold toes.
The wagtails I noticed on the barn roof earlier were elsewhere, but birdsong seemed to fill the air once away from the canine complains emanating from the house. I trudged across the small valley into the young pine forested area where the bright chirping seemed to be from all sides, but hardly a bird to be seen. Walking back round the perimeter I noticed the stream from the next field and the slush was deeper than my wellingtons.
The light drizzle which didn't completely avoid my lens has now turned to rain.
