Pretty Hellebore
I think I confused many of you about the people over last night, and I will try to make it clear as quickly as possible.
Our granddaughter was single & pregnant, so she released her first child for adoption seven years ago. When she became pregnant with Ellie, she was unable to let go of her, so she moved home with her Mom and Dad. Soon she left because she couldn't get along with her Mom & Dad; Ellie stayed with them and she has been there since then. We stepped in to help our son and his wife by taking Ellie for 3 1/2 days each week ...Ellie's mother calls her on facetime but has seen her seldom in the last three years...she lives 800 miles away. Ellie realizes her living situation is not "normal", but she is accepting and thriving in her unique life.
Our granddaughter had to fly into Portland to testify against the man who had abused her and several other women; she flew back home tonight. The DA arranged the trip, including the hotel, while she was here.
Life is complicated for this 28-year-old granddaughter; she has made many questionable choices in her life and is facing the consequences of those choices. We know we can't change or fix her; all we can do is love her and Ellie the best way we know how.
