The United Nations

The broken chair is a famous landmark in Geneva outside the United Nations offices. I spent the day going from meeting to meeting at various UN agencies, marvelling at how easy and cheap it is to get around Geneva. Like Brussels it has really well marked bus, tram and train routes and electronic signs inside that show you which stop you are at.... why do we not have this? The weather was lovely, the meetings a success and we had fondue and wine at the Bains de Paquis out on the Lake with old friends to finish off the evening.

Then we realised that the next day we had an 8am start for our book launch... who but the Swiss would expect people to be there so early? Especially after all that fondue and wine....
