The Athanaeum

The Athanaeum, built in 1887,was designed by John Burnet and is a category A listed building.  It was the home of the Royal Scottish Academy of Scotland (RSAMD), now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland until it moved in 1987 to a purpose built building.
