Birthday Boy

It was my birthday today. A low key celebration but enjoyable nevertheless followed a day of work meetings and trawling through various documents. Didn’t leave the house, even to get a card for my Mum whose birthday is tomorrow, but R did a great job of finding things that may be of interest to a 94 year old, which I can present to her in the morning. A sad part of the day was the news that L’s Dad died in the early hours, not unexpected but obviously unwelcome at any time. I knew J and L would be worried that it happened on my birthday but I reassured them that it was fine and they could help me celebrate on another day. It will no doubt affect how L feels about the day in years to come, but there is a sense in which it helps the day be memorable, albeit for very different reasons.
