Cards on the table

Have been waking up in the middle of the night again, this time between 3 and 4 am. Read some Henry Miller (don’t know why) and did a crossword. And did some doom scrolling, obviously.

We had an excellent team meeting today, our first extended meeting for awhile. It was really good for people to share not only how they feel about work, but also how they are coping with events in the world and how people are processing the horrors that are taking place in the Ukraine. Everyone is handling it differently. All my colleagues are compassionate and caring people but there is a shared sense of being overwhelmed. 

Russia bombed a maternity hospital today. It feels out of control. 

I had a productive day at work and I managed to get out for a walk in the sunshine at the beginning of the day and again at lunchtime.
