tropical paradise

When I think of the tropics I think of beaches, blue water, and fruity drinks. In fact, one brand of orange juice here in the States is called Tropicana.
So why are oranges growing in the landlocked, desert state of Arizona?
But I'm not complaining, seeing this tree on our walk today made me feel like I was on an even more exotic vacation!
