Rio Street Life

Lovely sunny day here in Rio. I like it at this time of year, hot enough to feel the sun on your body during the day without it being stifling, and very pleasant to sit out in at night. Think it was about 28 degrees today.

A day of cleaning out the kitchen cupboards, sorting out more technology glitches this morning...grrr. Actually woke up this morning feeling very disgruntled about the changes to blipfoto. I just hope blip central take the feedback on board as there are some very unhappy blippers and blippers' friends and families out there.

My uncle Wullie (my late dad's sister's husband) passed away last week and the funeral's tomorrow. I'd have gone if we'd been in Barcelona, but we heard the news the day after we'd booked our flights for here and so it just wasn't feasible. I spoke to my cousins today (it's their dad) and our thoughts will be with them tomorrow. He only had a short illness and passed away peacefully at 83 and was independent until just two weeks ago, so we're all grateful for that.

Another set of guests arrive tomorrow in Edinburgh. Exciting! So I was doing some work relating to that today to make sure the check in's organised, welcome goodies bought and the place spick and span and cozy. Our first two sets of guests gave us very good reviews, so fingers crossed for this couple who are our first British guests.

This blip's off the restaurant cafe just up the road from our flat. It's never really been on our list of regular haunts for some reason, but we've been a couple of times during this stay and it's quite nice and laid back.
