Aboard BA flight 273 to San Diego

So, this is it, the start of the journey to San Diego, California. We're off to see our son (and his American finacee) who moved there in October 2011 for post doctorate research in cellular biology at the University of California.

This is our second visit to San Diego, this time we're going Club Class, courtesy of an Avios funded upgrade. And well worth it was too. The whole experience from arrival at Heathrow T5 to landing in San Diego. An enjoyable and relaxing 11 hour flight that went very quickly. Food and drink very good too.

Entry into the USA was straightforward too, we were almost first off, quickly through customs, picked up the cases and the hire car and were at their place within the hour of getting off the plane.

Hoping to be able to upgrade on the way back too. Just have to wait and see. There was plenty of space in the cabin on the way out.

We're here for 14 days, so the next 14 blips will be from San Diego and around. What a subject for my 100th blip!
