Queen Elizabeth 1 visited here in 1564 when it was the home of Sir William Cecil . James 1 swapped it for Hatfield and made it into a Royal Palace -Theobalds .
Sadly very little remains of the palace ….but now it is a park - Cedars Park and great for kids …..nice coffee too !
