Grant’s Fort…

was built on the platform on the ridge here. Water came from burns flowing either side of the knoll . These fissures provided security too, no one could approach without being seen. However, despite its name , it was just a dwelling house and ,as it was made of wood nothing remains. It’s a lonely and lovely place. Today, in the sun, there were Mistle Thrushes, Curlew, Ravens, Buzzards, Pheasant, Longtailed Tits, Chaffinches and Greenfinches.
Despite the sun and good weather the temperatures don’t reach double figures so the extra is in to show how some people enjoy their sport!
