Capturing Nature's Gifts
Another barbed wire image, one of my favourite themes. Quite a bit of this I harvested to use as linings for some bumble bee nest chambers. The chances are pretty low of luring a queen bee to make her nest in an artificial burrow, but the addition of a handy mouse nest increases the odds. Bumble bees often use abandoned mouse nests as their homes and are programmed to recognise the scent of mouse urine. Fingers crossed: though we have more chance of bumble bees using the mouse hole in the broad bean bed!
