Outing

We visited the Courtald Gallery this afternoon. It’s been a long time …. There has been a rehang, which I thought was successful. I enjoyed the familiar beautiful paintings, as well as a small exhibition of photographs of Kurdistan taken by Anthony Kersting in the 1940s. Sadly, most of the ancient sites in the pics were destroyed in the recent war.
The extra is the view east from Waterloo Bridge. It was cold and windy!
This morning I had my last befriending call with Josiane as a volunteer with The Reader. From now on I will be calling and meeting her more informally. We discussed ‘I sing of change’ by Niyi Osundare and ‘Prayer by a plum tree’ by Alison Brackenbury.
