Out to Lunch

Not me (sadly)but the blackbirds who built their nest in this unusual spot. This is the interior of a Very old bowser that had a very old accident. It is in the ditch and has been for a long, long time. The blackbird flew out and curious i stuck my camera in and this is what i saw. An amazing array of unusual things. Almost as good an abstract as a painstakingly constructed one.
Have they made the right decision? It remains to be seen. If the weather stays freezing cold they are in the right place but could get rather hot if the sun is out for too long. No protection from cats but the hole beneath the nest will make an excellent back door! As for starting life on a dead bird wing. . . . .
