Mesmerized ?

When I go down to the shore with my camera my eyes are frequently drawn to this orange ball. It has featured twice in blips in the last couple of months and I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns up again.

Back in November Storm Arwen uprooted three of the old very tall Corsican Pines in the Reserve near the beach. A visit this morning confirmed that two more were lost in the three storms a couple of weeks ago. One of them held the Raven’s nest inits upper branches. A very sad loss. Now there are just two of these handsome trees remaining and having lost shelter from the others they must be vulnerable. Nature can be so destructive.
