The best birthday present... Ever!

Having lost our darling little boy, Sydney, just three weeks before, the prospect of finding something suitable for Gail's birthday seemed nigh on impossible. Until, that is, I saw the Red Nose Day Dolls, which were all handmade and auctioned off for Comic Relief. One of the dolls had a felt terrier, who looked not dissimilar to Syd, save for his distinctive markings. I privately tweeted a commission request to @sewrecycled and two weeks later, after steathily sending links to videos, a handful of photos and a description of his character, this small handmade felt Sydney, complete with scarf and tennis ball, arrived, just in time for Gail's birthday. I was concerned how Gail might react to him. Suffice to say, after both of us shed a few tears, we could only marvel at the skill and accuracy in replicating our boy's looks and character. Gail declared him the best birthday present ever!
