Today is carnival in Greece. In the Greek calendar Ukraine was invaded on Burnt Thursday.
Four years ago today I began the physical preparations for leaving my home.
Of course mine is still standing and my former neighbours continue to lead their lives as normal.
I can't imagine the horror currently being inflicted on people in Ukraine.

Last night I watched Howard's End, and coincidentally today I was walking around its filming location. I had had no idea it was filmed round here. An absolute treat of a day with a family I have known for about 30 years but seen precious little of for the last 20.
Lots of new small people to meet.
