Today's the day ....................... to take your coat off

Our first proper day of gardening this year when the sun shone all day and it felt almost balmy in the garden.

It was a day to prune and cut back after the winter - and to get things into shape for the growing season to come.  It was also a chance to admire the spring garden (always my favourite) and just enjoy the little daffodils, crocuses, hellebores and all the other flowers that have appeared recently.    

And before long, it will be the turn of the magnolia above, to take off its woolly winter coat and show us its flowers in all their glory .................
