This is the closest I've managed this week to the colours of the Ukrainian flag. It was a beautiful warm afternoon for a walk up Arnside Knott, yet it's difficult to escape from thoughts of what is going on on the other side of Europe. The depravity of the violent and ruthless actions of the invaders is increasingly hard to bear, as is the thought that the worst is yet to come, and that we have to stand by while it happens. The Ukrainian spirit burns brightly and there can be no victory in this one man's war of aggression, but how much carnage and human suffering will there be before peace finally returns?
