The Beautiful Icelandic Horses In The Fields

A snowy day doing the part of the Golden Circle, starting with Thingvelir park and a walk through a volcanic fissure.

Next stop was the geysirs, the only one that was active was Strokkur and that erupted every 10-15 minutes and reached an impressive 10-20 meters. The big geysir has been dormant since 2000.

We had to stop and admire the beautiful Icelandic horses in the fields, well I had to, I am not sure the others appreciated them quite as much as I did!

The weather took a decidedly turn for the worse as we reached Gullfoss, a stunning waterfalls even in the biting winds and snowy rain.

This evening we went to the harbour to try one of the fish restaurants. The food was delicious and we had a very atmospheric snowy walk back afterwards.
