How fortunate we are to be able to go walking without worrying about hunger and cold and finding somewhere safe to shelter for the night while carrying just a few precious belongings.  Many people in ”safe” countries are showing great kindness but feel so helpless to protect those who have lost so much and face an unknown future.  It was hard this afternoon to imagine their anguish and terror while we walked safely in peace and quiet under the sunny sky with the gentle breeze rustling in the trees and masses of snowdrops flowering in the lanes and beside the sparkling stream
