Turn! Turn! Turn!

It was hard not to miss this lone leaf swimming in a sea of snow that fills our yard. A strange and random sight, looking sadly out of place, isolated and alone. It reminded me of Russia and how it’s slowly becoming cut off from the rest of the world. This leaf is like a time traveler from our past, from a different season, something Pete Seeger and The Byrds sang so eloquently about: a time of love, and a time of hate; a time of war, and a time of peace • I’m also struck by the two colors making up the Ukranian flag. The color Blue symbolizes peace, stability, harmony, unity and security, and the color Yellow signifies optimism, joy, idealism and hope. How ironic • Peace, “I swear it’s not too late.”
