The end is nigh ...
... after almost 23 days of stunning colour. I did a quick bit of pollination this morning, but suspect it may be too late. If no seeds set this time, I may try to separate some of the side shoots to produce new plants later in the year.
Meanwhile I spent the morning at the Duxford quilt exhibition with my elder daughter. She is a keen quilter. So much beautiful fabric there and some lovely quilts (see today's extra), but it has moved a long way from the original idea of a way to use up fabric scraps and old clothes. Does anyone else remember when Laura Ashley used to sell bags of offcuts for 25p?
The forecast is looking much better for the next few days, so hoping for some allotment action tomorrow.
