The Front Yard (Friday 4th March 2022)

Gardening Wednesday was postponed until Friday due to the weather, and was mostly spent by Refna planting in the plants I bought last Friday and repotting and adding compost to the pots in the Front Yard. This shot of the bench was taken through an open window in the same spot as the "before" picture from 24th February.

Meanwhile I was busy overhauling all the birdfeeders, encouraged by increased bird activity in the garden.

On Thursday I'd seen a wren in the garden for the first time in a year and also, momentarily, a pair of long-tailed tits. This was the first garden sighting in several years and was backed up by a second sighting on Friday at the bottom of the garden. Robins, blackbirds, blue tits and great tits have also been observed but it is months since finches of any kind have visited, so I am hoping the new banquet I have laid on will have some effect. I should be hearing the jackdaws that nest in the chimney tops before long.
