The Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) is a year-round resident of this area. The Red-winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus) is a migratory bird and spends winter in the south of the U.S. They typically return to Wisconsin on the 15th of March (+/- 2 days) but this year they are especially early.
