Doric Gruffalo’s Bairn

Early start this morning. After a bit of back and forward trying to get Kara back down we called it at 0520am. I gave Jen some more time to sleep, she has a tougher day looking after Kara all day than I do sitting in my office room!

We popped downstairs and put on iPlayer. Kara is obsessed with the Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler so we watched The Gruffalo. She nearly nodded back off to sleep under the blanket. I nearly did for sure!

In Kara’s library books this month we picked up the Doric Gruffalo’s Child. It’s hard to read but fun. Kara isn’t fussed. It’s funny seeing Doric written out like that for what is mostly a spoken dialect. I’ve put the two side by side for you to compare. Close up on Instagram
