Widdershins*

We had our best night’s sleep since Tess broke her arm, although it meant breaking a habit of nearly 45 years of marriage and sleeping on opposite sides of the bed and a barricade of pillows so that Tess could stop from rolling on to her damaged arm!

With the weather so Spring-like, we headed to Stourhead and walked twice round the lake, once in each direction. A day for doing things * “the wrong way round”

The snowdrops, anemones, and daffodils were out, as were a few rhododendrons, and it was all looking rather wonderful under the blue sky. This is the view of the Gothic Cottage from across the lake. Couldn’t resist putting the classic view in extras.

We enjoyed lunch sitting in the courtyard just outside the gardens with the warm sun and the smell of woodsmoke for company.
