Ditto yesterday & the day before, weather rubbish

Tonight is the village Christmas Quiz (slightly delayed). Special prizes for best costume. This is my shirt, with red trousers and maybe a Santa Hat. I could be rich tomorrow.

In Swaffham a local haulage company has volunteered as the collection point for the Ukrainian appeal. We added nappies and other baby things to our supermarket order and I delivered them yesterday. One corner of their big shed was set aside for contributions so ours was added to the pile.
Overnight there was a request for big plastic sacks to pack the donations in so we went out to the garden shop to buy some strong bags. We explained what we wanted and the guy pointed us in the right direction. Picked up half a dozen roles and went to pay. " You buy 3, I'll buy 3" the counter guy said. Such random acts of kindness are extremally touching. As he said it might not be much but it helps. If only everyone was like this.
When we got to the collection point we found that the big shed had been totally taken over with donations, as had at least one out building, a couple of transit vans were unloading pallets of goods, there were wooden crates, already filled and being loaded onto an artic lorry and more people coming through the gates with more. There are a lot of good people in this country

After tonight I thought I might donate this shirt but they have enough problems already
