Will it fit?

During a quick visit to Penrith we came across this event and stopped to watch. This is the walkway that will eventually join Sainsbury's with Penrith town centre. The entrance arch was lifted from the lorry up to the waiting poles. Then it was lowered to fit the poles. The three blue-hatted chaps seemed to know exactly what they were doing, as they manoeuvred the piece with the blue ropes. In a few moments the one on the left was to climb the scaffolding and work with the one on the right to fit the top onto the poles securely. I'm not sure what the three white-capped chaps were doing.

By this time, there was quite a crowd of onlookers and a number of photos being taken. Historic occasion - well sort of in its own small way. "When you're grown up," said one lady to her daughter "you'll be able to say - when I was six years old I watched that being put in place!"

We're heading north tomorrow!!
