Today's the day .................... to pose

I went for a walk in the woods at Barrhill to the north of Kirkcudbright in the hope that I might see a red squirrel.  There's a hide there which gives you a perfect view out over the feeders that are used by the reds and a whole variety of birds.  Unfortunately, the hide was closed to the public - as it has been since the start of Covid - although you would think that by now, they might have considered re-opening it?

Anyway, there were no squirrels to be seen - but then it probably was a bit late in the day for them.  But there were plenty of birds, including THREE woodpeckers (all at the same time, honestly!) and this cheeky little robin that came to check me out.

When all else fails, you can always rely on a robin redbreast to strike a pose for you  ....................
