DNA DOUBLE HELIX

This aluminium sculpture by Charles Jencks , 2005, was donated by Nobel Laureate James Watson to commemorate his discovery together with Francis Crick, of the structure of DNA. It can be seen in Clare College Memorial Court, Cambridge.
Charles Jencks (b.1939) trained in architecture and has made several versions of this sculpture, which are sited in various locations in the U.K. and U.S.A. One is in Kew Gardens. He is also a writer and broadcaster and designer of innovative gardens, including The Garden of Cosmic Speculation, near Dumfries, Scotland.
