I went to buy some daffodils but the florist said "I have some nice tulips, will they do?" Well not if you're Welsh, I don't think! Everyone's daffs were tight shut in bud so, having not thought of buying leeks and not meeting any dragons on the way home, I've blipped a pancake.

Shrove Tuesday, marking the day in the Christian calendar when bits of food around the house are eaten up in preparation for a fast during lent. It's making me think of the many people who will wonder today when their next meal might be and who will help provide it.
