Sally Mair - Loving life

Shrove David's Day

Today is the 1st of March, and, as my mum would always tell me while loudly singing 'Land of my Fathers' , St David Day. The daffodils are for Mum and St David. The combination with the primula, for Ukraine.
Not just St David's day (Dewi Sant) though, today is also Shrove Tuesday so of course we had pancakes for dinner to finish off all the goodies in the cupboard before Lent. Somehow, as daffodils are also called Lent Lillies that all ties together rather well. (not quite all the goodies in the cupboard are finished I'm afraid).
Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and at the services we are particularly, in common with many other churches, supporting the Ukraine.
Ali visited today, and even although the weather was lovely, I used that as my excuse not to do more gardening.
Bridge this evening and another Tuesday over.

The pictures from the Ukraine continue to shock. That rocket attack this morning.....
The people are having to cope with Covid as well as all of the Russian aggression.
Today I thought too, of those who were already seriously ill in hospital there, of the staff and of their families.
Man's inhumanity to Man!

Stay safe folks
