Essential infrastructure

It looks as though the boys are assembling their toys for another burst of activity near the golf course. With an appropriate eye to their own comfort, they started with the portaloo.


It reminded me of when we embarked on renovations at our house in Concord. On the first day we hurried home from work to see what had been accomplished. The plumber had extracted the old toilet from the bathroom we were renovating and plumbed it in to the sewer line in the garden, and the builders had erected a modesty screen around it. With that essential infrastructure in place, next day they started on the renovations.
