Duck Egg Blue

 "Ey up mi duck " is an old East Midlands greeting, which I remember from my teens in Loughborough.

I was puzzled seeing a male mallard duck dragging something under itself underwater for quite a few seconds on todays dog walk. Eventually a female mallard bird surfaced and then proceeded to raise herself upright by flapping her wings in joy, three times. The male just seemed to chill. YouTube confirmed that we can expect some baby ducklings to follow. Also that this male seems to be quite proficient! 

Later a woman stranger complemented me on how well my blue coat brought out the colour of my eyes (nb they're not duck egg blue).  Always good to give and receive compliments.
