Daffodils

The wonderful sunshine we had on the weekend has left us - today it has been dull all day, and these daffodils would have looked better on a sunny day, but it is what it is.

Tomorrow night we are finally celebrating Tommy's 21st with a dinner in London - it was cancelled at the time of his birthday in January as his girlfriend Inca got Covid. Tomorrow is the first day that suited all of us since then, and now there is a tube strike planned for tomorrow so we are not sure how anyone is going to get from the stations to the restaurant, as taxis and Ubers will probably be so busy. Perhaps Boris bikes to the rescue?

Tonight I have an in-person camera club meeting, it is a print competition so it is preferable to attend in person rather than watch on zoom when you cannot hear all the comments made. The chairman of our club is struggling to get people to come back to meetings in person, zoom has made us all lazy and apathetic, but to be honest when you factor in the time to drive there and back, plus time to tidy up the hall and pack all the chairs away after the meeting ends,  it is so much more convenient to stay at home and watch on one's computer screen.

I am hoping that there will be a ceasefire in Ukraine. I am getting a bit annoyed with people complaining about the government not doing enough for Ukraine, do ask yourself, what are you doing about it? Instead of just posting yellow and blue images on social media, rather take some tins of food or old clothes/blankets to the local organisations collecting for Ukraine.
