You can't beat homegrown

Very low air miles as it was out of the pigeon/resident pheasants reach. The rascals!!! I've staked each plant now, making sure there is no landing post for the above avian invaders.
Walked Indie in the morning, coffee with Mum, back to Chudleigh for lunch, then off to the stables to bag up horse poo for the allotment. 12 bags loaded into the back of Emma's transit van, 3 huge buckets plus bags for herself. All loaded, unloaded, & moved about the plot in just over 30mins. I stayed on the plot and did some weeding, not much just a bit in between the gooseberry ouch! ouch! bushes, which incidentally need to be pruned ....... but how?
Emma produced a rye loaf made in the electric bread making machine I gave her & Sarah backalong. A lovely surprise, more wholemeal texture & flavour.  A nice loaf but not like the rye loaves I used to make in Sweden.
2 heads of purple sprouting broccoli to go with the roast lamb. Yum!
