Life In Wales

Iechyd da!

We’ve worked non-stop today, but before we started we walked into the village and got bacon rolls from Greggs and than sat outside Costa and had a hot chocolate for me and a coffee for Alan.

Fran and Liam the guys who are doing the work to mum’s bungalow came round at 10am to go through a few things and to collect a key - they start work on Tuesday. And we had people come and collect a table, the sofa and chairs and a bed.

Alan did a big tip run and I sorted through mum’s clothes and countless ornaments. We’ve got boxes of things to go to the charity shop as well as coats and books, a box of books to go to the care home and some furniture for mum’s room. We couldn’t move everything today, so I’ve stored things in mum’s built in wardrobe and we’ll collect it at some other time.

We had hoped to be able to head home this afternoon but that wasn’t possible, and by 5pm we were getting hungry so I went to the chippy to get steak & kidney pudding, chips and gravy. We didn’t have any food for the boys so I got them a jumbo sausage to share, and they loved it! It was a real treat for them as they only ever eat raw dog food, but I couldn’t let them go hungry.

We finally left at 7.15pm and got home about 8.40pm. We’ve left the stuff in the back of the car and will unload it tomorrow. For now it’s feet up with a glass of wine. Note my glass says I’m the number 1 wine taster and will work for free lol! Cheers, or as they say in Wales, Iechyd da!
