A Grand Day Out

We set off for Petworth House early this morning (early for us, anyway). It's about an hour's drive away.

It was sunny. All day. After the weather we've been having that was just unbelievable.

So, we bought lunch and sat outside to eat it; visited the house with its Van Dycks and other famous artists' paintings; and spent time and money in the bookshop. 

It was a surprising amount of walking seeing that we didn't visit the grounds at all, except to trek to and from the car park. I am now knack exhausted but it was worth it.
