Can it only be a week since I was glued to the TV watching the Winter Olympics? Now I keep turning on the TV to follow events in Ukraine. It is a strange feature of modern life that events are beamed into living rooms hundreds of miles away as they happen. The journalists who are reporting from inside Ukraine are doing a marvelous job. It must be nerve-shredding to be so close to incoming missiles. 

Ukraine is resisting the invasion far more robustly than I expected and Zelenskyy is providing amazing leadership under fire. But it is hard to see so many people displaced from their homes and suddenly becoming refugees. This is not going to end well or soon.
