Mono Month Challenge 2022

Today my daughter and I went on a journey to collect a car she had bought. It involved a 321 mile round trip from North Yorkshire to just outside Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. She was very pleased with the car and we set off to a farm shop/cafe just north to get ourselves lunch and sort things for the trip home. I led, she followed.

When we arrived at the cafe she was not happy. The oil warning light kept coming on telling her to shut down the engine. Having driven 15 minutes away from the showroom we didn't want to drive it further so we called them. The owner came up to meet us with their mechanic who couldn't find a fault on the computer.

The owner of the garage took it away to to test it leaving the mechanic (as hostage..?) and after what seemed a long time returned to say it only happened as he arrived back at the showroom. He suspected a defective oil pressure gauge and had noticed the driver's wing mirror was moving. He ordered both parts and they would be fitted later today. 

He wanted to test it afterwards so suggested we returned home and he would have it driven up tomorrow if all was well. This is now happening with the driver returning by train. It will also give them a long test drive to make sure all was 100%. 

Although disappointing for my daughter it does mean it will be with her tomorrow. Considering most of the other cars for sale at the showroom are valued at over 12 times the cost of her car they have given her equal service. 

The lunch we had at the farm cafe was excellent by the way. This Blip is just outside the farm. Cambridgeshire is totally different to Yorkshire. It has big skies, flat land and drains, this one being called Redcow Drain.
