Pissenlit

I was in the back garden getting+ generally blown about in mini cyclones, as is the weather currently. I thought to myself, do i want to post yet  another spectacular robin, as i had rattled a few off this morning. Or should we ring in  wholesale changes. The latter me thinks.
So here it is, the humble dandelion. Pissenlit in  French -to wet the bed.
its leaves if forced like rhubarb make for a tasty wilted salad, with roasted hazelnuts and a hazelnut vinnaigrette. Its flower petals make a very scrum dandelion honey. i used to gather volunteers to pick these  flower heads and i would spend an equal amount of time making and bottling this golden nectar. Speaking of nectar, the honey bee gets its first real nectar source from dandelion. i keep bees and harvest enough true dandelion honey each June.
Did you also know that the Russians, through world war 2 were the foremost producers of latex, made from, you guessed it, Dandelion (the white stuff)
