The day after the night before....

A very late wake up today after a 4am bedtime was just what the doctor ordered! Followed by a lazy breakfast and a flutter on the Grand National!

Now, when it comes to the National, I don't understand betting so I always choose my lucky number, the horse with AP McCoy onboard and then just a horse name that I like. However...this year horse number 14 had a stupid name that I didn't like so didn't choose it. Instead I went with 'Colbert Station' - McCoy onboard, Ballabriggs because it did OK last year and then I had a choice - Chicago Grey or Aurora's Encore. I liked Aurora's Encore as it sounded like a great name for the news headlines later in the day. However, because a grey horse won last year I chose Chicago Grey.....Aurora's Encore won at 66-1. :( Next time I will go with my gut and put money on the horse name that would sound good in the news!

Amidst all this, a group spent the day together and recapped on last night's antics. The weather was so lovely today that we ended up on the front grass playing badminton, and yes, you guessed it, the sunglasses came out for the first time this year!! :)

A chinese takeaway to finish off the day followed by the movie 'Taken' - never seen it before but very impressed!

...and then I found out that a friend had been to St.Andrews for fish and chips and a walk along the beach - 2 things I have always wanted to do! Needless to say I ended my day a little jealous! :(
