If only it was this easy!

After half term, I'm due to take over fully from a teacher who's going on maternity leave. We were due to have a 'handover week' last week but no sooner had she arrived on Monday morning than she was sent home, as apparently it was announced that covid can be extremely dangerous in the third trimester of pregnancy. Very frustrating for us both but, of course, you can't take any chances with a baby.

There followed a week of emails and one quickly-snatched video call, during which the teacher did an amazing job of giving me as much information as she could.

Unfortunately, the agency asked if I could work over half term as although my school, in West Sussex, is closed this week, East Sussex schools had their half term last week so will be open. So, here I am at a new-to-me school in half term! Thankfully, I worked flat-out over the weekend and have made a pretty big dent in my workload already but although this box in the Student Support room was actually empty, I'm pretty sure I could have filled it up!
