There's A Strong Wind Coming
Drove across to an area in Ross know as The Prospect which offers wonderful views over the River Wye and the surrounding countryside.
I went to see what was happeing with the floods in the area and was totally surprised to find that within two days, the water levels had dropped considerably and the flat areas were not under water like they had been, Even the river had returned to near normal levels at this time of year.
The nearer I got to the furthest overlooking point, the darker it was getting and the stronger the winds got and it was simply impossible to hold the iPhone still enough to get this panormaic shot, so walked back (or rather blown back) to the car which was only about 3 minutes away to retrieve my tripod, which certainly helped as long as I kept a firm grip on it.
Having got the photo, I decided it was time to get back to the car pronto as I envisaged a torrential downpour....but it never happened. By the time I got back to the car, the sun was shining again and the wind had almost subsided..
When I got home, even Mrs IU was surprised at how dark it had got and along with the sudden gusts of wind, and was expecting me to have come back without any photos. So it was just 10 minutes of some kind of freak mini storm that passed as quickly as it arrived.
