Rottnest Channel Swim........

.......was swum today. 
We were there for the start of the last few waves. I think there were about 13 groups. Solos took off at 5:45am, followed by duos and teams of four. The winner took just over 4 hours to swim the 20kms. There were unhelpful winds and a strong cross current apparently so tough work for those brave enough to compete.

In this image you can see the swimmers veering left where they meet up with their designated paddler who sticks with them for the 20 kms. They then meet up with their big boat where there is food, drink and, in the case of duos and teams, the rest of the swimmers. Some swimmers complained of seasickness today because of the choppy conditions. Poor things. 
I'd still be swimming. Or drowned.
