"Please use near by pay phone"
Out and about in the city of London yesterday l spied this old police phone box. These were introduced to Londoners in the 1920s so the public could contact police or HQ could contact the local Bobbie on the beat (apparently the red light on the top would flash). At their height there were over 600 of these dotted around London town, only 8 still remain, this one is down near Aldgate tube station. They are not the same as the Doctor Who police boxes which came later.
