Let there be Light

We have outdoor lights now. This means it can be light outside whilst being dark inside. What a novel concept! Important however, in this new climate of constant grey gloom. When did we last ever see the sun? Where has it gone? When was the temperature last over 5 degrees, it is just plain freezing.....brrrr...

Perhaps Spring will arrive next weekend, and the entire nation will dash out to B&Q to buy up all the cheap BBQs that will be on offer next to the half price garden furniture! Pubs will open their Beer Gardens and people will start sunbathing in Hyde Park. Every piece of green space left in the urban jungles will come alive as people emerge from their warm centrally heated hideaways (the social elites, established middle and technical classes that is - not the student aspiring service workers and the precariat obviously as they will be frozen in blocks of ice).

The frogs in our garden do not know if they are coming or going. The plants all seem to have given up and the birds have all turned into penguins.

Perhaps it will be a little warmer tomorrow.
