A walk along old city walls

I have discovered a completely new approach to Edinburgh Castle today, walking from Lauriston Place along the old city wall. It's a shame it was such a misty, drizzly day, but it kind of adds to the atmosphere I think, very broody and medieval.

This is what I love the most about living in Edinburgh, you turn into a small passageway that you have already passed a hundred times and it will lead you to an art gallery, the steepest staircase you've ever seen or a secret vodka bar.
